Why doesn't "Update All Pages" work for my Dynamic Web Template?

G

Guest

I have a DWT set up, along with all of my pages. But when I make a change to
the template and try to update all of the pages, the command is grayed out. I
have to open each on individually, detach, reattach, and then remove the old
template. Seems to defeat the purpose.

Any ideas?

This is a known issue when working with DWTs on a server based web on anything "other than"
a Windows 2003 server.

Make your changes on a disk based web and then publish to the server.

We are pushing for a fix.

You don't need to "open each on individually, detach, reattach, and then remove the old template."
Server based webs don't support Update, but they do support Attach for changed DWTs
- all you need to do is select your files in Folder List or Folder View and use Format at DWT Attach
