why doesn't Microsoft Word allow me to paste?

everytime i try and paste something into Word it doesnt allow me. it takes
ages to load but never does and then it says that Microsoft Word is Not
Responding. so i have to close my wordpage by pressing Ctrl, Alt and
Delete-this allows me to End Task.
please tell me how i can resolve this problem!!!!!!!!

I was doing that last night when my Word also stopped responding. I was
directed to upgrades because a piece of my Word software was missing. You
might check the Upgrades for your version. After I downloaded all of the
missing upgrades, I was able to paste with no problem. Good luck!
