Why does XP fall asleep?!?

B

Bob Cronin

I use Retrospect Pro 7.0 to backup PC's on my network.

All the PC's are set up to go to standby after 30 minutes of inactivity.

If the backup takes more than 30 minutes, the client PC is going to
sleep.

Why does XP think the client PC is inactive whilst there is an ongoing
over-the-network backup?

There is no activity until the corresponding client PC is access. If the
backup is taking time to do the client backups, some PCs will normally hit
the inactivity timer.
