Why does Word Help have a different appearance?

I clicked on "help" in order to search the index and find information.

A window opened up on the right side of my monitor that looks very different
from the "help" that I remember.

Is there a way to reset the appearance of my help screen to its former self?

I'm using Word 2003.

(I am grateful to the kind folks that answer these questions, but my eyes
are bleary, it's taken me nearly an hour to get to this help screen, and -
I'm human - my frustration level is high because I'm simply trying to do
something that I've done before, and used to be "simple and easy" - now I'm
struggling. Thank you for your help.)

Hi Erik,

You didn't mention what other version of Office you may have
been using previously, but basically in Office 2003 the help
is 'fed' through the Word 'task pane' (Ctrl+F1 toggles it on and off)
and is browser based, containing a mix of content from the the
local help files on your hard drive and content from Microsoft's
Office Online (http://office.microsoft.com) website. You can
use the Help menu to get to the Word Help Table of Contents to
sort of have the older 'look' but that's pretty much what's left
of the older style Help system dialogs.

Sorry, this is entirely negative, but the changes to Word Help are dreadful.
They have taken something which was, perhaps, hard to navigate well but
which was packed with information which could usually be found, and changed
it into something which is impossible to navigate and requires a permanent
fast internet connection to be even remotely usable and is, in short,
utterly useless. I really hope they improve it in Word 12.

From what I have heard, I think you'll see marked improvements in Office 12
Help.

Thanks. It can only improve really but it's still good to hear.

I have seen quite a bit of information trickling out about Excel 12 but very
litle about Word 12 - apart from the Office GUI. Do you know of any sources
of information?

that's probably the Office app used by more people than any other (and it so
