There are currently 4 instances appearing in Task Manager and they will not
be deleted - I have to restart windows to clear them. This all happened
after I recently installed the latest update and if there is not solution I
think I shall be forced to reinstall office to get rid of the changes made by
that update. Can anyone help?

Hey MissVickie

What version of Windows are you using? If XP instead of restarting Windows.
Go to the Task manager and click on the Processes tab. Select the winword.exe
and click the End Processes button.

With regard to multiple versions, is this something that continually recurs?
If so, you may have a problem with some code, if you have custom macros,
check to see if they create instances of the app, or docs without ever
closing them.

Hope this helps. If you need additional help, please feel free to email.

End Processes does not force winword to close.
This problem occurs every time I use word (office 2003), even just opening
and then exiting, and it still remains in memory.

I only have one macro running to help paste things copied from the Internet
--another problem that has occured since the last update patch -- and cause
word to hang.
