why does thunderbird sends my .snp attachment as a .tmp?

I'm trying to send an access attachment that my recipients open using
snapshot viewer,but since i switched to thunderbird the attachment is sent as
a .tmp instead of .snp...and ideas?

This is not an Access question, really, but anyway... I'm using
Thunderbird too and just tried that, and received the attachment
correctly as an .snp on the other end (MS Outlook on another domain).
So, it's not a native Thunderbird problem, at least not in the latest
version. I would suggest you try reinstalling Thunderbird (as good a
chance as any to get the latest version 1.0.2 if you're on a previous
one), and if that doesn't solve it, then start looking at firewalls
(yours, your gateway's if on a network, your ISP's...).
