why does my outlook only send error messeges and not open?

i have today declined to by mcfee after a free trial and downloaded free AVG
instead and now my microsoft outlook is not working
 
Are you getting an error message involving a DLL from the McAfee package?
 
no, I was not getting any messege from Mcafee, but I have now removed all my
Mcafee installations and it seems this has cured the problem.
