Why does my new document have text in it?

Whenever I start word, I open a new document and it has text from a previous
document. What do I do to get a blank document when I open a new document?

You are God, I have been haunted with this problem for weeks and just could
not figure it out. How did this happen inthe first place?

No one really knows, but we suspect it is caused by a poorly written add-in
that prompts you to save Normal.dot when you exit Word and instead saves the
active document. Several common add-ins (including the Microsoft Works Suite
Add-in for Word) are suspect.
