why does my email command not work

I am unable to email a document as an attachment from the new windows Vista.
The command for email will not highlight - how do I do this?
 
Vista doesn't really have anything to do with it:-) It depends on your
version of Word and - more importantly - your email software, in which you
must have a MAPI account established. See Word Help on:
