why does my cursor get small?

Hi. Sometimes when I'm working in Word I open a file that I've used before
and the cursor is smaller than it was before. It's obviously not a problem,
but it really bothers me, visually. Thanks.
 
We don't know why it happens, but you can restore the cursor by
changing the zoom to 500% and back to 100%.
