Why does my computer keep going on standby?

I thought I had all my standby options turned off, but my computer still goes
on standby of its own accord, and with no particular reason or pattern. I've
come across these errors in my log:

Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction response from the
stisvc service.

The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: i8042prt

Do these have anything to do with it, and how do I fix the problem.

Thank you for your input, but it really didn't help much....I thought that
there might be an issue with my wireless usb keyboard and mouse, but
reinstalling the drivers did nothing.

Start, Control Panel, Power Options. What are your settings for "Turn
off monitor" and Turn off hard disks"?

Hope this helps.

I have standby and hibernation turned off in power management and the
inactivity timer turned off in my BIOS.

I know it's not a screensaver issue because the actual standby screen pops
up and the computer goes into standby.
