cd rom detection problem

Hi,

I just recently installed windows xp after building my pc, but I seem to
have a problem with detecting my cd writer drive every time I boot up. I
have to go through add hardware to enable me to use the cdr drive liteon
48125S. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions. I get the following
error messages in the log29 January 2004 Service Control Manager Timeout
(30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction response from the
ShellHWDetection service.
29 January 2004 Service Control Manager Timeout (30000 milliseconds)
waiting for a transaction response from the AudioSrv service.
29 January 2004 NetBT Initialization failed because the driver device
could not be created.
29 January 2004 i8042prt The operation on the PS/2 keyboard device
timed out (time out is configurable via the registry).

Many Thanks

Faulty cd rewriter or bad motherboard, or bad bios on motherboard.
I'd suspect bad or incompatible (bios) motherboard, first. though I've seen
some really shit cd drives. Never had a bad LiteOn one though!

thanks for your reply, i've update the firmware, still get the same problem,
could it have been something I did when installing the m/b? I did have
another cd drive connected before i changed it to the cdr drive, so it maybe
a faulty liteon drive. I'll have to see.
