Why does my comma key give me a symbol now?

A professor I work for discovered that when he punches his comma key, he gets
an international symbol. He has checked his keyboard settings, his shortcut
keys, and the language he is using.

Similar to another posting, it sounds like someone entered the comma as an
AutoCorrect entry. To find out, go to Tools>AutoCorrect/AutoCorrect Options
(wording may vary with version), then type a comma in the 'Replace' field.
If an entry shows up in the list, select it & click 'Delete'.
