Why does my auto complete forget names on each shutdown?

My auto complete feature is turned on and works great. However, when I turn
off Outlook 2003 and then turn it bavk on, the names are not stored or
remembered. Once e-mails are sent the names begin to be stored again only to
be lost on the next shut down.

You have either a corrupt autocompletion cache file or a corrupt profile.
Create a new profile to fix both. You'll lose your entire present cache.
