why does document print to about 1.5" from bottom, even though Pr.

When typing a word document, and text goes to the absolute bottom of page,
which is what I require, but when printed the text stops at about 1.5" UP
from the bottom of page. Why ? and How do I fix this??
using Microsoft Word 6, running Windows XP.
