why do some of my .xls attachments get lost.

I run Outlook 2003. Most email attachments transmit ok. But I regularly lose
..xls attachments to a couple of recipients. The email itself arrives as
expected but minus the .xls attachment. On at least on occasion even zipping
the files up was of no avail.

Are you sending the message(s) in plain text/html or rich text format? The
reason that I ask is that Microsoft Outlook is the only client that deal
with rich text format.

ps - you also might have to disable word as your e-mail editor.
