I'm really confused :-|
I have a client who cannot open a .xls attachment directly from an email -
he wants to be able to do this instead of Saving to disk. I'm confident I
have deployed the "Outlook Security Features Admin. Pack" successfully. I
have removed "xls" from "Level 2 File Extensions" on the security form and
created the "CheckAdminSettings" registry key (with value of 1) on the
client.
The confusing parts are these:
* works on my PC - I can open an xls doc directly from the email - as
expected, however, when I remove "xls" from Level 2 File Extensions on the
security form & restart OLK, I can still open the xls doc. How so? Is there
a delay?
* doesn't work on the client - cannot open the xls doc - CheckAdminSettings
= 1 and "xls" in removed from Level 2 File Extensions. Why?
* works on another client - can open the xls doc - but this client doesn't
even have the CheckAdminSettings reg key installed, therefore, shouldn't
work. Isn't default behaviour of OLK2003 to prompt user to Save to disk?
All clients use Outlook 2003 with Exchange 2003. Any help on this matter
would be awesome!
Thanks,
Dennis.
