Why do some CD tracks not play when linked to PPT?

I have linked some mp3 files saved to my hard drive sucessfully but am
stumped as to why others will not play. They are not protected files. Any
suggestions?
 
What is the full path to the files? Do you have them saved in My Documents? If
the path exceeds 128 characters they can't be found by PowerPoint. Trying
moving the presentation and the music files to C:\Test and then open the
presentation and delete the music links and reinsert them. Play the show. Do
they work?

If not, go to Start > Run and type mplay32.exe and try playing them. Let us
know if they play or not.
