Why do my documents automatically load in reverse ABC order?

When I go to Open, my documents load in reverse alphabetical order, and I
have to right-click and choose arrange by Name. How can I get them to
automatically load in regular alphabetical order every time?

I use microsoft word 2002.

The order should reflect the view set in Windows Explorer, however open the
File Open dialog and set the view to 'Details' (button top right of dialog)
click the header above the name which sets the sort order, then set the view
back to your preference.
