Why do I receive meeting requests as blank email messages?

When someone sends me a meeting request, I receive it as a blank email
message. We do not use Exchange, but that does not seem to be an issue for
others on our network. They seem to be able to use the meeting scheduling
function just fine. I used to receive meeting requests normally, my problem
seemed to conincide with switching my setup to IMAP.
 
Your Outlook version is relevant.
