Why do I lose IE ?

D

Denise

I have downloaded and runa scan of MSSpyware Beta. I
chose to clean all spyware that was found and after
running the scan (removing all items found) I cannot open
Internet Explorer. I have done a system restore but now
have the spyware again.
Please advise how to run the program and still have IE.

Thanks!

To repair all system files, go to Start/Run, and type (or paste in): SFC /SCANNOW

Thanks Mark, but do I download MS Spyware Beta and run a
scan again? Do I do the scannow after dealing with the
spyware scan? Thanks!

You are seeing relic damage from some spyware you had. Now that it is removed, though IE is damaged, you can repair your IE, and
then should get a good run of the antispy, without any more damage.

Denise, I have had the same experience. The spyware
removed some pesky cool web search files that I have been
fighting for a long. But everytime I try to go to IE the
program is blocked. I can get into explorer only by
clicking an icon on my desktop for a site that I use often.

I went into the resote option of windows. Picked an earlier
date and all was well. I downloaded the MS spyware and now
I have the same problem. MS does not support this beta
version so where do we go from here? help, iamdave

"Where do we go today"..... MS must understand that
spyware, hijacks etc
needs more manual support.

1st step, download Firefox for a working browser.

Stand alone version
