I was running a scan and found 3 spyware items. I
clicked the abort button, so I could deal with those 3
items. Unfortunately, if you chose to abort the scan,
you lose the ability to do anything with the problems the
program has already found.

It would be nice to provide an option when aborting the
scan, to allow me to clean up what it has found already.

NOT WISE!!

It likely has NOT found all traces of the spyware, and
removing only what it has found WILL NOT remove the
entire spyware from your system. This means that the
spyware WILL likely return if you rerun a scan,
especially after rebooting. The first things that it
WILL find are the running processes.

Also if you only remove the running processes, then there
could be remnants left over in your registry. Since
their will no longer be a running process/file linked to
those registry keys, then the keys WILL NOT be removed.
This makes it necessary to run a registry scanner to
remove these registry keys that are no longer valid.

Another problem is that removing the running process
could also make it possible for the spyware to "reappear"
after it has been "removed." This is due to the fact
that most, if not ALL, of the files associated with the
infection WILL remain on the system. Once you reboot, or
even log off and log back on, it WILL be running once
again!

All of this is NOT what MS wants to accomplish with the
redesign of the original source code devolped by Giant
Comapny, whom MS bought out to obtain Giant AntiSpyware
which is now called Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware. What
they want to accomplish is to create an application that
even the almost totaly computer iliterate can use without
having to resort to other means to fully clean their
system of spyware/malware.
