I install & run MSAS for a friend, find over 100,000
registry 'bugs'; while running overnight, the default
2:00 a.m. scan kicks in, so then there's two running:
also, abort won't work (froze?).

Re-running scan since 10:00 a.m., from start, (now at
193k 'CommonName' items found), but would appreciate
option to 'abort' and 'process' what is found so far!

I imagine clean-up will take a week, if scan ever
completes!

Or is this a Loop?

Send a Tools, Suspected Spyware Report from Microsoft
Antispyware, and detail the cleaning issue you are finding.

Have you tried scanning with Microsoft Antispyware in safe
mode?
Run a full system scan, check the 3 boxes

I think you are in a loop. I'd recommend cleaning using some other tool,
then retrying Microsoft Antispyware.

Trend Micro's online scanner does spyware as well as viruses:
