why do I have a tramsparent mouse while using vista media center?

even ought it still works if I move it around and click it on a hit or miss
basis, but its very annoying, can anyone help me with this? Thank You,

Turn off mouse trails in Control Panel (Classic view) > Mouse > Pointer Options
tab.
