Vista Media Center won't Run

When I attempt to launch Microsoft Media Center in Vista RC1 Build 5600,
Windows Media Center will show up on the taskbar, my mouse pointer will
disappear, and nothing from Media Center will show up. I must use the Task
Manager to exit MC.

I am running:

The x64 bit version of Vista
AMD Atholon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+
2.00 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Series GPU

It may be important to note that I have not been able to get drivers to work
for my Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty sound card. I would expect that I should still
be able to boot MC, however (w/ or w/o sound).

Anyone else have this issue?
Can anyone help me troubleshoot it?

On my PC MC does work, but as you, I haven't been able to get any sound. I'
ve tried installing all drivers available for Vista but none seem to work.
Have you had any success since then ?

Hi,

You're solution is simple, if you haven't already done so. The progam is
actually running properly -- it is just not shown on your primary display --
and media center monopolizes the mouse cursor.
Go into display properties and uncheck "extend the destop onto this monitor"
for the second display output (or attach a second monitor to the second
output to see the media center display).
