Why do I get Password window continually repeating on receiving?

For some reason in Outlook 2003 I have recently been getting the Enter
Network Password window constantly popping up when a send/receive is working.
The inbox never receives the messages because the damn password window won't
acknowledge the entry. It keeps popping back up every time you hit OK.
What did I do?????
Or better yet, how do you resolve?????

Thanks......

Here is What Microsoft told me to do and it worked:
Agreement of Issue:

help save the password in outlook

Resolution/Recommendations:

- wentto start > run > regedit

- then highlighted my computer > go to file > export and saved it under my
documents

- then browsed Hkey current user > software > microsoft > Protect storage
system

provider

- right clicked on the folder go to permission > click on add and type
everyone

- then highlight everyone and check full control and read

- then click on the advanced button and check the box which says replace
permissions

on all child objects click on apply and on yes for the message

- then click on ok in the windows and should take registry editor

- then click on the plus sign next to protected storage system provider and
deleted the

s-1 key below the same

- then exit the registry editor and retype the user name and password in
outlook

Did this work for you? I have 2 users that suddenly have this sign on box
popping up on them, They have been in outlook all day and getting their
emails and all of a sudden this sign on box pops up and you can't get rid of
it. YOU can hit cancel and it disappears for a few seconds and then pops back
up. I am totally new to outlook and can't figure out how to fix this. What
set it off?
ANY help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Yes this did work for me. I don't know why it occurs, but it does. I have
used this on my computers, as well as several others' computers and it
cleared it up for them as well. It is also posted on Microsofts web site as
well.
Make sure you back up your registry first! Always.
