One of the good option has been removed in the defender version. The ability
ro undo any system or exporor hijacking. Like I can not chenge my exporer
start on XXX site. The box is lock out. I was able to undo this with the old
windows spyware remver that has the un do hijacking. I hot they put the
option back in on the next update of defender. Any freeware program to remove
the hijacks?

Hello Paul,

This is a AndyM (e-mail address removed)
or Ron Kinner case.
Get HijackThis.exe from
http://tomcoyote.org/hjt/hjt199//HijackThis.exe
http://computercops.biz/HijackThis.html

Save it to C:\hjt (new folder) then Open it and select Scan and Save Log.

Note where you saved the log then send it to him as an attachment.

Put Hijack in the subject so he'll know it's not spªm.

Alternatively you can post it on the Dell Forum ªt:

http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board?board.id=si_hijack

Put Ron in the subject so he will see it.

You do not need to have a Dell to post but you will need to register.

Hi Paul,

Please after D/L, take your time and read the setup for each program.

SpywareBlaster -http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/sbdownload.html
JavaCool's free SpywareBlaster automatically adds a lengthy list of
dangerous addresses to IE's Restricted sites. SpywareBlaster is compatible
with AOL's browser; it also works with current versions of the Netscape,
Firefox, and Mozilla browsers. Its most recent iteration is SpywareBlaster
3.5.1

Although not an anti-spyware or anti-virus software, WinPatrol runs in your
system tray to monitor any changes that spyware or malware can install or run
while you’re surfing the internet, especially if you’re running Internet

I like Engel's suggestions for fixing your current issue. One reason this
tool isn't in Windows Defender is that IE7 is much more resistant to this
problem, and easier to fix with tools in the product. IE7 beta is available
now to the public, and can easily be removed if you find problems with it:

Mr. Sanderson, Which "TOOLS" are you talking about in IE7? My IE7 is
currentily HIJACKED and I am using HIJACKTHIS to fix the problem but if for
some reason this doesn't work how do i use IE7's tools to fix this problem?
