Seems like this line is 'missing' after the VERSION line:
METHOD:pUBLISH

I haven't dug through the iCal/vCal spec to see if the field is mandatory
but adding it to the file allowed Outlook to open it as an appointment

2003 SP1, but people on my department have different versions and I need to
get it working in all. The tip by Vince (Many THANKS) works well in some

To import a multi-event file, you need to go through the File | Import and Export wizard.

Maybe, but I have succesfuly loaded several iCal files with multiple
appointments. They load just fine and the appointments appear in Outlook.
However something is different in this file. It is first generated in another
program, imported in KDE, changed and saved.

That is what I have done. It works for other files generated by KDE but not
this one which only is edited by KDE.
