Why can't I see JPG attachments in the body of the email?

On my Mac, when an email arrives with JPG attachments they are visible in the
body of the email. Why is that not so in Outlook 2004, and how can I change
that? I don't like having to click on each JPG attachment individually to
view them.

Don't know about how things work on a Mac, but with Outlook on a PC, you
can't see attached images in the body of the message. OE can do this, but
Outlook can't.

Because OE for Mac is back on version 5. OE for Windows is now up to
version 6 which changed security so that attachments do NOT get opened
except by overt action by the user. See

Tell your sender to embed the image (so it is inline) instead of
attaching them.

Oops, see you are asking about Outlook. Sorry. I can't remember when
Outlook ever had a slideshow feature like Outlook Express to preview
*attachments*. Or are you asking why there is a red X in your e-mail
where an inline image should've been?
