Just worked out
If the growth rate is .59% this means that 1 min after the census there were
an extra (525600 min a year) 570 americans - plus another 2 over the boarder

I re-did your math:
(300,000,000 - 12,000,000) * .59% = 3.23 new people in one minute
(300,000,000 - 12,000,000) * .59% = 3.23 new people in one minute

300,000,000 – 12,000,000 = 280,000,000 (happy and legal Americans)
At a grouth rate of .59% that’s 1,562,000 (new happy Americans every year)

Have you Canadians considered coming south for the winter and staying? We
have such nice public schools in the US. Your children can get a free
education here where they too will be able to debate the merits of
intelligent design vs evolution, but won't be able to do math without a
calculator, or find London and Antarctica on a map (or even the capital of
their own state), or open an English dictionary to find that "seperate" [sic]
isn't in it, or name more than a dozen elements on the periodic table, or
name more than a few bones in the human body, etc.
