Why can't I open my junk mail folder in outlook?

I'm not very savvy when it comes to outlook. We just replaced our old
computer systems and installed Microsoft XP 2003 and everything looks and
works different, including outlook. For some reason there is a red circle
with slash on the Junk email folder. How can I get rid of that?
 
You can't. It's the icon that represents that folder. It doesn't mean you
can't open the folder.
