why can't i download templates in powerpoint 2007

When I click on "new" and then choose any topic from the list for download,
it won't download. Says I have to click "get genuine". When I do that, I get
the message - "a worldwide web browser such as Windows Internet Explorer is
required to use this feature. I have Windows Explorer open. How can I
download?

Windows Explorer is not Internet Explorer. You have to use Internet
Explorer.

It's confusing, I know.

Try going to http://office.microsoft.com and heading to the Templates tab.

Hm. Then you might try running diagnostics in Office. Open PPT, go to Office
Button | PPT Options | Resources and run diagnostics there.

If that doesn't do it, well...I suppose it could be something with your
firewall, but I wouldn't know where to begin to look for that -- especially
since downloading directly from IE works. Hm.
