Why can't I delete this folder?

I'm trying to delete a folder that I just deleted all the
files out of -- so it sure looks empty to me! However,
when I try to delete it, I get the message:

Error Deleting File or Folder. Connot remove folder
<foldername>: The directory is not empty.

"Show hidden files and folders" IS selected under
Tools\Folder Options\View.

In the folder's properties, Read-Only is not checked.

Does anyone know what might be preventing me from deleting
this
folder?

what ever you do dont delete system files or folders they will have a ! by

the file or folder to say that is not to be deleted
