Why can't I add captions to new photos added to an existing photo.

I have an existing photo gallery that accepts additional photos, but will not
take captions/descriptions for the new photos.
I have even tried creating an new photo gallery with these same photos, but
still cannot put on captions/descriptions for these photos. How do I
"unlock" this procedure?

Since I have had no replys and have been unable to find reference to this
particular problem I am replying to my own post: I used the "detect and
repair" under help in FP and this cleared the problem.
Maybe for anyone having similar problems this should be the 1st "line of
action".
Anxiously awaiting release of Expression Web!
