Photo Gallery Properties, caption and description

Hi,

I am new to FrontPage but I have created websites using a HTML editor.

I am trying to use FP to create a very simple photo gallery with captions
and descriptions. I can get photos into the site; no problem. I see the
thumbnails displayed. When I double left click on the thumbnail area the
thumbnails turn to negatives with a black background, and the Photo Gallery
Properties box comes up. I see the list of image files. I can type in a
caption and description for the selected image; then I hit OK. Caption and
description do not appear under the selected image thumbnail. When I go
back to the Photo Gallery Properties window, to enter more
captions/descriptions, I note that my caption / descriptions for the orginal
image are blank.

In other words, the caption/description information I enter does not
"stick".

And why the heck do the thumbnails turn to negatives and the background turn
black? When I get out of FP and then back in the thumnail area is white and
the thumbnails are positives again - until I double click the area to do
some more work.

Got any ideas?

E.T., Thanks for the link to elanorstravels. She has some interesting
comments and hints. I am reconsidering my use of FP for a photo gallery.

Dave,

E.T. *is* Eleanor T Culling. Yes, her site is great .

But beware of using the FP photogallery. Eleanor, along with many others
would recommend that you use another package, e.g. JAlbum

I am amateur, but I have taken the advice and I don't use FP's built-in
photogallery
