why can i copy but not paste?

NOTHING I copy from anywhere, seems to paste into anything. NOTHING happens
and the document just sits there. No timer, nothing. The paste function
doesn't even highlight when I click on it. When I right click, copy, the
paste option is shown as an option, but doesn't allow me to click on it. I
have shut down and restarted and seriously I have had to reload my opsys 4
times now and I am ready to just scrap it.

Please help.

Hi tstarrett,

What are you trying to copy & where are you trying to paste it and in what format? Not everything is copyable (even if a copy
function is apparently available) and not everything accepts pastes.
