Why aren't e-mail address visible to auto-link from Account windo

I'm using Office 2003 with Outlook Business Contact Manager 2003.
When I click the "E-mail Auto-link" in any Account window there are no
e-mail addresses to select. I've added business contacts for these Accounts
and I've read all the help files I can find but I'm still not able to figure
out what I'm missing.
As I understand the functionality it would appear that email addresses I
enter for an Account would then be linked to the Account History which is
ultimately what I'm attempting to do.

You need to simply save it first, then it will appear to be checked for
aut-linking.
