why are my default program settings not staying set?

I've been using the "Set Program Access & Defaults" setting from the Start
button to CUSTOM set my browser to IE, my email to OE, and my media player to
WMP.

The system seems to accept my settings, but continues to revert back to the
original default settings of current browser, current email, and Musicmatch
Jukebox.

There is not an "apply" button, but after clicking Ok to finalize my
settings, there is a message displayed quickly indicating that the settings
are being changed.

So, how do I lock my settings in?

Hello Rick

think about it like this.
Every company wants to use thier product. so they have speciel AGENTS built
in the programs to look for changes being made to assosiate their palyable
extension by other programs. (that includes the changes you make)
Mostly the problem can be solved to go to every programs OPTIONS one by one
to "disable" the AGENTS to keep the file assosiations open to changes.

Hope this help.
let me know if it worked for you or need more advice
