When I try to play Mpeg files in powerpoint I just get a blank (White)
screen. What has gone wrong?

Griffin,

What version of PowerPoint, Winodws and what sort of Mpeg (1 or 2) is it?

The version is Powerpoint 2003 (SP1), I am running it on Windows XP Home
edition.
The properties tag on the file describes it as MPEG Video. I don't know if
that is 1 or 2.

Try moving the presentation file and the MPG to C:\Test and then delete the
video file and reinsert it. Then run the show. Does the video play? If so,
the path was too long. If the full path to a media file exceeds 128 characters,
PowerPoint won't succeed in locating it at play time.

Result!
So I just need to cut down the length of some of my folder names to make
everything work properly... Well done for thinking of that one Sonia! Thanks.
