Why another admin profile were created after sysprep?

Hello,
Before I ran Sysprep.exe version 5.1.2600.1106 with mini-
setup and Reseal option on a XP Pro machine with SP1 and
latest updates, I renamed the default administrator
account namd to ADMIN and created some shortcuts on the
ADMIN desktop. I also specified in the sysprep.inf, after
machine restarts, join machine to a domain, restart
machine and log in as ADMIN once.
When the machine restarted after sysprep, it did joined
domain with specifed name and did log in as ADMIN
automatically. However, the shortcuts I created earlier
are dispeared from the ADMIN desktop. When I
opened "C:\Documents and Settings\", I noticed there are
two ADMIN profiles. The shortcuts I created earlier are on
the ADMIN\Desktop. The current profile is a new ADMIN
profile has a "." and followed by the machinename". This
profile is created by the system based on the default
profile.
This has not happened on my previous XP or Win2k syspreped
machines. Could anyone tell me what went wrong? Thanks.

I forgot to mention that the administrator or ADMIN
account is buildin local administrator account. I am not
sure in which process I changed the SID for the account.
Thanks.

If you logon locally after joining the domain you get "username.machinename"
profile. If you logon the domain you get "username.domainname" profile.

THanks for reply.
I see what you mean. But my problem just happened
recently. I was using the same procedure to create sysprep
images before on both Win2k and XP images and have no
problem at all.
With the same image I created lately, on some of the
machines, the problem occurs, but not all. Since all the
machines have same hardware, that leads me no clue what's
going on.
