Roaming Profiles reverting back

J

JN

I have setup several users with Roam Profiles including myself. I am a
Domain Admin and the others are just Power users on their local machines and
Domain Users for the network.

I have a problem where my profile does not update correctly. Occasionally I
will put a document or a shortcut on my desktop and when I log off and login
the document or link remains. If I delete it off the desktop or change my
desktop around, the changes do not stick. The document comes back next time
I log in.

I have noticed that some domain users do not have this problem. When they
delete an icon or document from their desktop it stays deleted next time
they log on. I don't see how it is a security issue since I have domain
admin rights so why can I only add to my profile and not delete items from
my desktop.

I think your profile is mandatory profile which means changes will not take
place.

go to your profile and check is there is ntuser.man(hidden file) file. if it
is there then rename it as ntuser.dat with other administrative privilage
account.
