Have no idea about what some of the haters are talking about. Upgraded three
systems already and had zero issues with drivers, programs ... nothing. Been
the best upgrade I have ever done.
With any new product (software or hardware) there are a number of
things which might go wrong, depending on the hardware, software, and
user.

The more complicated the product, and the larger the population, the
more times things will go wrong.

I have done three installs of Vista, two were new 64 bit installs (the
first time I did that was when I learned a 64 bit install will only go
as a new hardware install), and one 32 bit in place upgrade. The only
problem I encountered was a single blue screen on the in place upgrade,
but it didn't resurface after a reboot. But the in place was on decent
hardware and on a system with no data -- a non-production system.

Then again, I have supported, built and deployed computers in one role
or another for 25 years. Actually took my first computer programming
course nearly *40* years ago.

Vista haters probably have less experience than that, probably have
less compatible hardware (and installed software) than I used, and
likely had greater expectations based on marketing efforts. So, when
it fails, they get a tad irate (OK in some cases out of control irate).

That being said, there are also folks here who operate on the
confrontation is full approach to responding to those angry folks.
