Brand new laptop arrived this morning with everything preinstalled. In
Windows XP setup, after clicking "Help me configure my internet," or
something to that effect, there is now a white tab that obscures most of the
setup screen. There doesn't seem to be anything I can do to get rid of it or
get past it. I can hit F1 and bring up the help wizard question mark, but
the only option it gives is to hide it. I tried to just start over with a
clean install, but the install wizard recognizes that the previous install is
still in setup and won't allow me to go further. Any help would be
appreciated.

Can you use any keyboard accelerator to get past it? Alt+N is generally the
Next keyboard, you might also try Alt+C, which would generally be Cancel, if
available. Try different key combinations.

As another option, try using Shift+F10, and seeing if you can get a command
prompt started. If so, then open task manager (taskmgr.exe) and see if you
can kill the configuration window.

HTH.
