White band on clips

I'm getting a white band in the middle of some of my
clips.What could be causing this and how do I correct
this problem?

on capture?
what are you capturing with?
when importing a file?
when previewing?
when saving to PC?
when sending to camera?
WMV or AVI?

I'm using nVidia, with Windows Movie Maker settings
at "Best Quality for Playback on My Computer" then saving
to my computer as VMV.
