while typing an email, outlook freezes at times, why?

I just got a new pc that has windows xp media edition. I have loaded
microsoft office proffessional 2002. the only quirk that happens is while
typing an emai, every couple of minutes or so the program freezes for about
30 seconds and then I can continue to type. Very annoying! Any thoughts?
 
That is not what I wanted to hear. Have you been able to resolve the issue?
Is it just going to be needed updated to 2005? Thanks, George.
