Intermittent freezes in composing message in outlook

g' morning,
lately i've been experiencing intermittent problems in Outlook when
composing a new message, forwarding, or replying to an email. While typing,
every 10 seconds, the clients freezes and stays frozen for approx. 4-6
seconds. While frozen, i can continue to type and upon its unfreezing, the
characters appear.

This is incredibly annoying and causing me to contemplate very bad things to
my pc. I experienced this last week before reformatting my workstation and
reinstalling the software, os, etc, etc. It's now back and very upsetting.

any light that can be shed will be greatly appreciated. sincerely,

something else installed on the computer is causing it. I have no idea what
(and it may vary for different people) - I had it until I reformatted and
whatever I didn't reinstall apparently caused it.

i disabled the AV from Norton/Symantec and still experienced the
delay/freeze. this is really annoying. the only app installed is Office 2003.

any help will be greatly appreicated. thanks,

i suspected that, but i have only installed MS office and Symantec's
Antivirus. i'll uninstall the AV, but don't think that could be it. thanks
for the repsonse,

I don't think it's the AV - I have Norton 2004 installed along with a ton of
other apps (and a ton I didn't reinstall).

What computer is it? It could be a driver.
