As I had to notice there must be a program which creates always a hidden file Thumbs.db
in folders with pictures.

Is this WindowsXP or another program?

If it is WinExplorer (my guess): How do I turn it off ?

Hi Martin,

Many different applications will create thumb.db files to cache images for
quicker loading but Windows Explorer is usually the main culprit.

You can turn off the caching by doing the following:

- In Explorer, click 'Tools' then 'Folder Options' then the 'View' tab
- Check the box titled 'Do not cache thumbnails'
- Click Apply then OK

You will then be able to delete the thumbs.db files on your system without
having to worry about them coming back.

Hope that helps...

Nick :-)
