which one is cheaper?

I wonder...
i have canon ip4000 and recently bought Konica Minolta 2500W color laser.
which one would come cheaper if printing, say, whole A4 color page (a photo
or 4 on 1 page). OK, canon is surely better quality, but, on photo paper,
while laser works on plain one...but quality is quite decent on laser one,
too. I'd need laser for quick seeing of my RAW photos before i send them to
lab.

so, i guess the point of laser is right here...being capable of getting
quite decent output on plain paper...since inkjet on plain paper still looks
worse than laser...and laser is somewhat quicker...

i wonder if anyone have any experience with toner refilling?

I've only done black but it gets VERY messy if you're not careful. If
you thought inkjet refill was messy, toner is worse because it's all
dry, fine particles. If you spill any, you would need a vacuum
cleaner that has HEPA filter to clean it up. Plain old vacuum cleaner
can't hold in the fine particles and will simply blow em around after
being sucked up.

I have not tried to see if color toner refill is even worth the hassle
but it's probably better not to try unless you plan to do it a lot.

i can imagine the mess...
i think if i'll to do that, i'll rather take toner unit to a store and let
them fill it up (since i have one whichdeals with cart and toner refilling).

This is an odd workflow as neither printer is capable of first class
results, the nod for photo images on glossy paper going to the Pixma.
Then you send processed raw images to be printed by someone else but
prejudge on the basis of a laser plain paper print?
And this works?

I generally don't print my photos, nor send them elsewhere for printing, but
rather send for making lab photos (generally with fuji frontier digital
lab). I just thought that i'd additionally check out photos, especially
colors, before final output, since LCD monitor could lie somewhat regarding
colors. Since laser has 2400 dpi, it's output is quite good. Sure, i do
occasionally make some with canon on photo pro paper, but to do this often,
it's just too expensive, especially paper, while using cheap one just
doesn't do good. I made some test prints with laser (ones i already have lab
photos) and print was quite similar. OK, i know laser is just not ment for
this...that's why i asked for some advice.
