Dear all,

Windows Vista Home Premium (No service Pack, no Important or Optional
updates)
Desktop PC (HP Elite m9060la)

I ran the Intel® Chipset Identification Utility and this is my report:

Intel® Chipset Identification Utility
System Information
Chipset

Detected Chipset: Intel(R) G33/G31 Express Chipset

Chipset Components

Memory Controller: Intel(R) 82G33/G31 Memory Controller Hub

I/O Controller: Intel(R) 82801IR Intel(R) I/O Controller Hub (ICH9R)

Integrated Graphics: Not Detected or Disabled

At the Mainstream Desktop Chipsets, I can see the Intel® G31 Express
Chipset and Intel® G33 Express Chipset

http://www.intel.com/products/desktop/chipsets/index.htm?iid=chipsets_body+dt_all

Which one do I have to install?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide me

You install drivers from HP specific to your system, if any updates are
required, and if its working then unless an update cures a problem or gives
greater functionality, then an update is not required

Antonio may be referring to the Intel display driver which blocks
installation of SP1 as in KB 948343.
This needs to be updated before SP1 can be installed but I cannot advise
on which ( or if ! ) one is required.
If I have guessed right then perhaps some HP savvy person can.

Yes! That is one of my questions SP1 blocks PERIOD What? I still do
not know.. Vista is a box of sh... In my opinion, maybe with time If I
can or I if am in mod I will found out …

But, my goal is uninstall Windows Vista and Install Windows XP Pro in
this computer; I am collecting all the drivers I will need in order
that this computer works with XP
I would use Driver Magician software for this task also. So I still
want to know which Intel Driver Chipset I have to download in order to
work with this computer and XP

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide me

According to HP site its Intel G33, and the mobo is an Asus IPIBL-LA
Since HP lists no winxp drivers for this model, then installing winxp will
likely invalidate any warranty or support.
There is info on HP site for updating requirements for sp1

I had to update the BIOS and the video adapter driver of my Vista machine
after installing SP 1, but I did that only after going to the computer
manufacturer's website (model specific) and was informed that the new updates
would fix the SP 1 "issues." I would not replace or update the drivers on
your computer to fix an SP 1 problem unless your manufacturer or MS
specifically suggests it. HP has pretty good service support )in most cases)
and I would be surprised if they didn't offer a fix on their website if they
had one.

In my case, updating the BIOS and driver that I downloaded from the computer
manufacturer's website (according to their recommendation) did fix the
problems.
