Which DVD Writer?

I'm looking at buying a 8 speed DVD writer. I like the look of the
NEC -ND2500A,
LG GSA-4081B, Pioneer DVR107 . I'm interested in peoples views on which of
these are the best or if there is a better drive than these,

Thanks in advance

From what I've used and what I've read the two best drives are made by
Plextor and Pioneer. Sony seems to make a first or second place ranking as
well, depending on who you are listening to at the time.
However, the best place I've found to have lots of user comments for the
best DVD burners is
http://www.dvdrhelp.com/

The folks who run this site have not only made it a great storage vault for
locating the best hardware but DVD authoring software as well.

I'm not familiar with the NEC model. Between the two others, the Pioneer is
built better and burns a wider variety of media. The Plextor PX-708A is
likely the best 8X DVD burner on the market.

I had a good report on the LG from a vendor who tested it in
comparison with the NEC. But all of them would be better than my 2.4
speed drive!

The more you pay the more likely it is you'll (usually) get a better
drive. I agree with other posters that Plextor is very good but it's
also much more expensive than the LG or NEC drives.
